Why Injury Prevention?
I chose to specialize in injury prevention within pediatric primary care because it aligns with my diverse skill set as a pediatrician, epidemiologist, and educator. Injury prevention is multifaceted and allows me to fully leverage my values of communication, connection, creativity, and curiosity.

Moreover, injury prevention resonates with my belief that effective solutions require collaboration with communities. Understanding the root causes and crafting practical, community-specific strategies necessitates a partnership between providers, researchers, and the communities they work within.

I am also drawn to the advocacy inherent in injury prevention, recognizing the importance of educators in conveying critical findings through impactful public health messaging campaigns. By disseminating information both within and beyond academic circles, injury prevention experts play a crucial role in promoting safety and well-being for all.
